Introduction

With the Moon Gathering behind them, all tensions were high with the new knowledge that was provided by the Coalition leaders and their members. It was a rough night for everyone. Worries and scares tugged at everyone's thoughts of what was happening to their lost ones beyond the gated territory they were told their poor loved ones and fellow tribe and coalition cats were being held.

Sunning Rocks Chief, Kafil held one tom in mind. Worried that without all paws, the job may never be done. Kafil had risen early, leaving the Sunning Rocks Tribe to Pumzi's command until he returned. Kafil had padded Quickly out of camp and headed for the Crooked Tree Border. Surprisingly, Fumo had already been waiting for him. "I couldn't wit for you to come all the way to camp..." He said with a rolling sigh before standing, "We should get moving...."

"Indeed... To Crowded Water then."

The Pair of chiefs made their way through winding prey trails, open grasslands and over muddied soft ground until they reached a point where the Crowded Water's Camp lay out in plain site. "You think we'll actually be able to change his mind....?" Fumo looked to Kafil with this question, wondering if there was any chance at all after what had happened the night before during the Moon Gathering. Kafil stared for a long moment and sighed. His green gaze looked to the slightly taller Chief. "We have to Try Fumo...." Kafil insisted softly before moving forward, heading right towards the Crowded Water camp.

Their arrival was expected by those who remained at the Gathering, so did not react as the two Chiefs enetered the camp and asked for Strelka. Word was quickly brought to Strelka that Kafil and Fumo had arrived but it was uncertain if the tom would actually speak with them....

-----------

The blind Chief was roused from his uncomfortable rest to hear the two other Chiefs had come to see him. The tom snorted in annoyance, but after a few moments he rose to his paws and stepped out of his den. He stood underneath the overhang, the glittering pool between himself and the other Chiefs. Strelka's hidden mark illuminated his face so he could see the two before he sat down on the smooth stone, tail twitching irritably. He looked like he had hardly gotten any sleep in at least a few days.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" He grunted, not sounding at all happy about them being here.

Kafil was first to speak, dipping his head in greeting to Strelka before momentarily glancing in Fumo's direction, "we've only come to talk Strelka... As well as give you information we have gathered from the coalition leaders from last night." Kafil stared at the crowded water Tom, already sensing the annoyance from the moment he stepped out of his den but this was important. Not just to him but to all the tribes. Everyone needed to help if they were ever going to get their loved ones back.

Fumo was quiet, knowing that Strelka wouldn't want to listen to what he would have to say. In a way, he had lost a bit of Strelka's trust. And he understood that for now, it would be wiser to let Kafil speak to him first. He looked around though, and saw a crowd gathering. Intent on wanting to hear what they were saying. "Do you have a place we can go, to speak privately?" He asked, deciding that at least asking shouldn't hurt to much.

Strelka curled his lip at the mention of the coalition leaders and opened his mouth to say something spiteful, yet as Fumo spoke, he closed his jaws and seemed to have noticed the crowd as well. "Very well." He stepped around the pool and between the two Chiefs, leading them out from under the overhang before he stepped through the small stream that ran out of the camp. He kept leading the two a good distance out of earshot, following the ravine down until they were in a small clearing, cool from the icy water that flowed through it. He stopped and turned around to look to the two, sitting down beside the ravine. "Well?" He asked, sounding irritated as before.

Kafil followed after Strelka, stealing a glance towards his aunt and Crowded water Elder, Kamaria as they had moved on. She seemed worried and upset herself. Kafil thought about speaking with her later that day. He swayed his tail and smiled before they were lead away. When Strelka had finally stopped, he looked to the Grumpy chief, "Look, we understand your hatred. We all will not forget Askari... its because of him we are even here....But we all have lost tribemates. Most with no scent other than human traps. It seems Kifo has also lost the trust of the other coalitions but they too had provided information on the matter. Wakali's coalition especially." He too finally sat down and laid his tail over his paws.

Fumo followed after, ear's flickering at the whispers as they walked out. He sat, and he allowed Kafil to start the conversation. His ears flickered, and he looked to Strelka. "We also understand why you won't trust them. But we won't get back our tribemates back, if we don't work as a team. We've done it before, Strelka. We can do it again. Kafil and I feel we won't be able to succeed, unless you join us. And don't you think, that your missing tribemates would feel better at see you, waiting for them?" Fumo spoke softly, as he watched Strelka closely. There was a double meaning in his words. Wouldn't Strelka like to have Matone see her father, waiting for her return?

Strelka narrowed his eyes. "And what if our Tribemates aren't where that demon says they are? I can't understand how you can so easily trust her when it's so clear she's just trying to use us for her own benefits. She'd only offer her 'help' if she was missing her own coalition members and couldn't rescue them herself. Worse, what if she's leading you into a trap. She could be easily trying to irradiate all three Chiefs by sending us on a suicide mission into the human camp." He lashed his tail and snorted. "Is she even going with you? Or just watching from the safety of her den while they aim their lightning sticks at our backs."

"Without a doubt I know of Kifo's rage and trickery Strelka...You must remember it was I who exiled her and its MY blood who's she wishes to spill first regardless of her obvious hate for the tribes as a whole. However, even if she does plan some sort of attack, you can be damn sure we'll all be ready for it and by what we saw last night, Wakali and Nguvu are on their toes about her as well." Kafil  straightened his sitting as the tip of his tail twitched, "And Its not just her word we are looking on. It seems there are others NOT of her own coalition that have seen where the humans could possibly be keeping our lost...as they too are missing some of their own. We don't know until we have a look Strelka... and our only observations have shown that whatever happened to them, they didn't go willingly but their lives were not taken." Kafil 's narrowed his green eyes, "You think you are the only one who's lost a child...? You think Fumo and I don't worry about the safety of our tribemates? We do this because we were entrusted by The Keepers as CHIEFS of our tribes and we must do anything to protect, guide and save them from dangers we ourselves may be afraid of overcoming..."

Strelka's tail curled and his nose wrinkled like he had something sour in his mouth, but he stayed quiet for a few moments, his gaze travelling to Fumo briefly. After a few heartbeats he let out a strained sigh. "What exactly is your plan to save them? If our tribemates haven't found their way out already, who's to say they won't just catch your rescue team too?"

Kafil held a small smile, "Strelka...its obvious our cheetah were bestowed with great gifts by our Keepers. We are not like the coalitions. And each of us possess a gift unlike anything anyone has seen...." He lashed his tail and looked between him and Fumo, "As for our plan...well..I say we keep it simple for now...Seeing as we don't know exactly what we're getting into... we don't want to risk losing any others. Small teams from each tribe, ourselves included...check out the place and assess the situation." He nodded and looked to the small ravine. "Once we have a clear understanding, we can send for more...." He glanced up to the sky, a bird had made a loud 'Scree', reminding him of his gift and listening to the things the birds have said as they fly by, and his green eyes flashed back to Strelka, "The birds have said a storm is headed our way. Normally we'd hide away but we may be able to use it to our advantage."

A storm to their advantage? Fumo looked up, sniffing the air and if he focused just enough, without the use of his gift, he could hear something like sounded like a grumbling stomach. "Sad as it is, Crooked Tree knows pretty well how to deal with storms, and using it as a cover." He said, speaking up for the first since they started to talk. "We can assign those with certain gifts, with certain jobs. Gift of Sound, and Gift of Bird View could look out for Poachers. And those with gifts that can mimic and 'speak' can scare off any Poachers near by. And they could also help gather all the cheetah's wanting out, to meet in an area." Fumo suggested, tail flickering behind him slightly. "Sentries and Hunter's can look for a weak point, and to look out for any other dangers, other than poachers."

The Crowded Water Chief sighed and swished his tail over the grass. "So then the attack will be soon?" His ears flickered and he looked to the stream. "If Crowded Water participates, how much time do we have to prepare?"

"Two days time after today..." Kafil readjusted his paws, "we thought 3 days would be enough for Fumo and I to speak with you as well as prepare our own. The more we have the better Strelka. These Coalitions are much smaller than our tribes but are just as fierce... They are willing as we are to retrieve their missing." Kafil nodded lightly , assured that it was the case. Regardless of any hidden motive Kifo or the other leaders may have. He could tell the coalition members needed help, otherwise they would have not even come to the gathering in the first place.

Strelka shook his head and looked up at the sky for a moment. "Fine. Two days. I will meet with you again with a few of my cheetahs at the Sisters' Trinity. We'll go to the capture point together from there." He moved his gaze back to the two other Chiefs. "But if that coalition witch does anything to put any of my cats in danger, I'm skinning her." He curled his tail behind him.

Kafil smiled gratefully and looked to Fumo after Strelka spoke his last words. If Kifo did try to pull anything, he  would not hesitate, "We'll all keep a watchful eye out for Kifo and her coalition....as well as the other coalitions. Two days time then... We'll see you then." He stood and dipped his head and turned, "Fumo..." he turned and started away, not waiting for anything if Strelka should suddenly change his mind. This was Crowded Water territory after all and the last thing they needed was another skirmish between the tribes.

Fumo nodded and gave a small smile as well. "Thank-you Strelka, for agreeing." He said, getting to his paws when Kafil had. He dipped his head to Strelka and to Kafil as well before he left. "See you in two days." He reaffirmed. He turned and left as well. He would be keeping an eye on the coalitions as well. Especially Nguvu's....

Strelka's sliced ear twitched before he hastily got to his paws and hurried after them before they were out of sight. He wasn't going to walk them to the border, but he'd decided he should tell them. "There is one more thing which I'd like you both to hear." He said as he caught up to the two Chiefs. "Only because you both have friendl ties with him." The Crowded Water tom narrowed his glowing eyes before he spoke. "The night of the Gathering, upon returning to camp, one of our Elders, Kivuli, joined the missing."

Fumo's looked to Strelka, shock coursing through him. His great Uncle had gone missing!? Was that why he hadn't come to the Moon Meeting. He looked back to where his Tribe's lands were, and his tail twitched as anger towards the humans filled him even more. "Thank-you, for informing us Strelka." He said, and started forward. "We'll get him back, along with the others." He promised the other Chief as he walked away...

-----------

Three days had passed, and Kifo had begun to grow impatient. As it were decided for her Coalition (she refused to go anywhere near her imbecile of a half-brother's standpoint), she had decided to wait near the Sister's Trinity - the place she first set foot in three days before. Already around her, the few members of her Coalition sat around, mingling with each other. Of course, a few were ordered by her personally a few hours ago to remain at the standpoint and cubsit her three younger cubs. Hopefully she was wise in doing so, for the dusty-pelted cheetess' motherly instincts began to kick up a little. How she loathed being too busy to spend time with her litter, but sometimes she had to make sacrifices. It was a Leader's job after all.

"Where are those imbeciles" she couldn't help but mutter under her breath, amethyst eyes narrowing into a glare as her lip curled into a scowl. Just as she started to shuffle on the spot, Kifo caught a glimpse of dark fur in the corner of her eyes, soon followed by a few others. Of course. Just count on Nguvu being one step behind her. "So, you made it. I never thought you would actually come" she hissed irritably, clearly not in the mood for a heated conversation. This earned her a glare from the dark-pelted rival Leader as he settled down a few feet away from her. "More like I should be saying the same to you, dear Kifo came the muttered sarcastic reply. That alone made the she-cat fight the urge to strangle him there and there, but she withheld herself.

Tonight was not a night to start a fight again. All in due time, you blob of worthlessness, all in due time she thought, instantly calming down at the very image of getting revenge. Coming back to reality by a close by rustling on leaves, Kifo looked over her shoulder before smirking. There, at the clearing entrance, were the Tribe Chiefs - including the Crowded Water Chief whom had stormed off. Somehow Kafil and Fumo must have made a very convincing argument to get Serdtse to agree in working with them and the Coalitions he deemed "rogues." Getting up, Kifo moved forward, Nguvu following after her. Probably not to wound his own pride and state himself on the same level of power as me, she wondered before abruptly stopping in-front of the Chiefs.

Already she could see the rest of all three Tribes behind them, murmuring about what was to come next. "About time" she chirped after a while of observations, her long tail flicking. "I was wondering if you were ever going to show up!" This earned a growl from the tallest of the Chiefs, his face a lit with that disgusting blue glow in the shape of some distinguishable mark. He opened his mouth to say something, only to be held back by none other than Kafil. "Sorry for making you wait long, Kifo, Nguvu" the Sunning Rock Chief responded, nodding his head in acknowledgement to the two Coalition Leaders. Even if they were enemies, the dusty-pelted she-cat still had to admire how her old Chief kept in a polite state of mind. Unlike Serdtse or the past Crooked Tree Chief Vumbi.

"We came as promised. So, what is the strategy we are going to use in this rescue?" came Fumo's reply, his look hard yet holding an inquisitive light in those turquoise eyes of his. Kifo just chuckled, sitting down and clearing her throat. "I thought you'd already thought up of it. Or did convincing Serdtse make you forget?" she sneered, instantly causing Strelka to grit his teeth a little. "Says a murderous demon who cares for nothing but blood and destruction. What says we can trust you, witch?" he hissed, pushing past Kafil and staring her face to face. This made the cheetess laugh coldly. "You're right, you can't trust me. However, I care about my Coalition and their survival. Mind you, I also have cubs living in Sunning Rock" she answered back coolly, blinking once.

Not even bothering to see the tom's reaction, Kifo decided to get straight to business. "Me and Nguvu will go straight to the Hukumu Standpoint to inform Wakali before heading out to the large metal cage Man take cheetahs too. Of course, that is my strategy. We'll wait for you to Tribe worms to figure things through yourselves." Right at that moment a cold, strong blast of wind blew into the clearing, causing Kifo to stare at the sky. For the first time, she had noticed that a storm was beginning to brew, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Perhaps the weather could be used to advantage too? Turning back to the conversation at hand, Kifo stood up and twitched back an ear. "I promise to behave" she slyly teased. Than, turning around, she stared at Nguvu.

"You don't order me around" he hissed, clearly dissatisfied at her taking the lead. Kifo just scoffed. "I'm no fool, Nguvu. Besides, we're on a truce; one had to explain to those pesky Chiefs what we're up to" she explained harshly before letting out a yowl. "Coalitions! Follow behind me and Nguvu! We are heading out to the Hukumu standpoint" she announced before moving out, a begrudging Nguvu next to her with the group of Coalition members following en suite, thus leaving the Tribes alone in the clearing. "We agreed on using the storm to our advantage, but I thought up of what Kafl mentioned two days ago" the Crooked Tree Chief chirped to the two other Chiefs. This brought their attention on him, both curious to hear what Fumo had to say.

Looking at Kafil, the yellow and black-striped Chief opened his mouth to speak. "You  mentioned that we have gifts... perhaps we can use those too?" One by one, both Strelka and Kafil thought through what the new Chief had said before nodding in agreement. Than, huddling together, they began to arrange how this rescue operation may work...

Conditions - The light of the dying sun is just upon the horizon, yet unlike other summer evenings, there is no sign of heat. Instead, a massive dark cloud his slowly making it's way to cover the land in darkness before the moon can, and with it the scent of rain. Although dry for now, there is no telling when the awaiting storm will erupt. Other than the coldness of the howling wind, there is an eery silence overhanging the Reserve, as if the clearing itself is holding it's breath. One thing is for certain; this rescue will be no ordinary one.

"Script" to Follow

- Chiefs will be leading a small group of selected Messengers, Sentries, and Hunters alongside their Tyros to the reserve where all three Coalitions are waiting. Meanwhile, remaining Tribe cheetahs shall stay put at the Sister's Trinity until further notice.

- The small groups will call out for those missing, gaining the attention of the cheetahs in the Reserve whilst cheetahs with the "Gift of Bird's View" lookout for any Poachers and those with the "Gift of Safe Flame" or "Gift of Captured Light" can light up the darkened place. Other gifts may be activated to illuminate the Tribe cheetahs personally.

- After failed attempts to get the cheetahs out, Tribe Messengers are sent to get reinforcements just as the storm breaks out. Meanwhile, remaining cheetahs come across a mysterious looking cheetah (RPed by one of the Admins) from the other side.

- As soon as reinforcements arrive, lightning strikes a close by tree, causing it to crash through the reinforced fencing and delivering a way to escape. Meanwhile any dug up holes collapse from the rain. Mud causes troubles for the Tribes too.

- Poachers soon arrive on the scene, causing Sentries and other cheetahs to distract and attack them with their Gifts and moves so the cheetahs in the reserve can have a chance of escape. Those with the "Gift of Mimicking" of "Gift of Speech" may even speak human gibberish to put the poachers off task.

- Poachers run off just as the last cheetah escapes. Tribes and Cols are victorious and part ways.

:bulletgreen: Seeing Mwezi blush in the corner of his eye made Maono smile out of amusement, and as he saw not a single Poacher in sight the tom deactivated his Gift and turned to his companion. "OK - the cost is-" he barely even managed to finish his sentence when a eery, rumbling and roaring sound made its way into the tom's ears just as the ground started to shake violently. Fear seeped its way into the core of the golden tom's heart as the blood started racing furiously to his ears; he recognised what this was. He had been there when it had happened back during the journey... the earth shaking, threatening to split into a never-ending black gorge to suck him under, never to be seen again by all. However, Maono was snapped right out of those thoughts when he saw tears trek down Mwezi's face.

Gut wrenching - and hiding his own fear - the small tom placed his tail onto the she-cat's shoulder in a comforting way, where it remained until the earthquake simply stopped. As soon as it was over, the Messenger let out a sigh of relief and looked at the still shaking Hukumu Coalition member. "I... That-That was an e-e-earthquake... I've never heard one since the Journey in the Tunnels" he admitted in a hesitant chirp, not quite getting over what he had just laid witness too. However, around him he could see the retreating shadows of Poachers; it seemed the earthquake had scared them of, which meant... "Don't worry; those two-legged creatures are leaving - the earthquake frightened those monkeys off!" he chirped, slightly more enthusiastic thanks to this news he had inferred.

:bulletgreen: Damu just stared at Paa blankly, knowing all too well that she didn't exist during the time of the dreadful Journey thus she would have never came across an earthquake up until now. His green eyes darkening, the red Tyro shook his head before he spoke in that mixed accent of his. "That was an earthquake - I experienced one during the Journey I briefly told you about when we first met as cubs many moons back. Although seems to me it scared those monkeys away to their metal monsters; the cowards" he bluntly stated before perking his ears up at Paa's response to his question. "That would be nice, but I only have the one bruise. The others I can live with along with aching muscles" he reassured the she-cat in a gentle tone, only to catch a very familiar brown pelt from the corner of his eyes.

Turning to see Chaka heading his way, the tom instantly narrowed his eyes into a blunt, effortless glare. He really hated this tom; brother of Paa or not, Chaka was probably one of those cheetahs like Kisasi that he despised the most. Not even wanting anyone to see him get a single thing done to him to relieve him of his injuries, the red tom stood up onto his full height and shook his head. "I'd rather be healed alone with you rather than have others around me and assuming I'm weak. Including that brother of yours" he muttered darkly under his breath, ignoring the nearing paw steps of the younger Sunning Rock Tyro from behind.

:bulletred: The Messenger Tyro felt guilt after calming down from her anger when she noticed that Bubu's initial reaction was lowering his ears and an apology; she knew he only done it to prevent her from dying, and she was thankful for that. However, the thought of having someone's - if not anyone's - blood on her paws because she was so stupid as to let her mind take over her sense of reality made the multi-colored she-cat shiver slightly. She knew that if that were ever to happen she would forever blame herself for their death and believe that she had murdered them. Not minding Bubu leaning on her for support, the young cheetess found herself softly licking Bubu's cheek and wounded ear in hopes of relieving some of the minor wounds pain. After all, he "mother" used to do something similar whenever she grazed herself on an unhidden branch back when she was a tiny cub.

"I'm OK... And I'm sorry about what I said earlier; I-I was scared" she whispered softly, only to be interrupted by the voice of her older brother. Looking up at the fellow Messenger Tyro, the she-cat shook her head. "You go ahead Pori; if you come across Kokoto or any Healer in particular just come find me; I'll probably be heading back at a slower pace than you with Bubu" she chirped before nudging the tom leaning against her softly. "Come on, hero - my hero - we have to get those wounds sorted and see if that bullet is possible to be taken out" she added on in a more confident voice, amethyst eyes clearly determined in finding some medical help for her tan colored friend.

:bulletblue: Heavy breathing came out as foggy clouds from Upepo's mouth as panic and confusion glazed over her eyes and heart. Blood... so much blood... Ngoma looked so helpless and seemed to have trouble speaking herself. Fear - something Upepo had felt many times - finally went to it's extreme and threatened to make her scream. Yet all that came out of the cream she-cat was a small whimper and tears running down her cheeks. Without hesitating, the Tyro began to gently and cautiously duck her head underneath her sister's small frame and lift her up onto her back. She had to find Asali or Jatieno. Or anyone really. The tom with her had left for some unknown reason, but the Hunter Tyro didn't mind it too much. He was a stranger after all and strangers don't get involved in family matters.

Sniffing and choking on silent sobs, the once happy-go-lucky Tyro began to swiftly, but slowly, move among the wet and muddy path towards the re-grouping cheetahs, not wanting to think of the worst possibly outcome. She had seen death too much in her young life in the form of Dhoruba's death and the possible murders of her parents thanks to Man.

:bulletblack: Kifo panted heavily from the battle she had won momentarily before the earthquake had struck. Of course, Ashura had once told her of such phenomena, but until now the Leader of the largest Coalition in the land had yet to bare witness to one. Her mind instantly went to worrying about her daughter and son; were they safe? No sooner had she began to look around for any signs of them did Kifo notice Sikio had come to her willingly. Glad that he was safe, the old she-cat flicked her long tail - Pori and Jani would be safe; they were intelligent cubs after all. Nodding to the tom, the Leader began heading out, her work done for the night. I think I'll have a lie in tomorrow - better spending time with my other litter of cubs she thought to herself, her aching limbs seemingly approving with her. "Dhambis, we're heading back. Our work here is done" she called out tiredly before heading on the familiar path ahead...
